In 1991, British Film Institute charged brothers QUAY of a small identity film.
It accompanied all films distributed in cinema by the BFI during 10 years.

The oldest existing film of the QUAY was restored according to same criteria’s as films of the DVD 1, but it is presented separately, with their request.

BBC2 knew a complete rehandling in 1991, and asked the QUAY to design these 3 identity films, finally rejected by the BBC.

This theatrical performance of duet RALF RALF (Barnaby and Jonathan STONE) was played for the 1st time in 1987. The QUAY carried out this "pilot" , refused by Channel 4.

04/8/2013 Alexandre M. Expérience de l\'ineffable... Véritables énigmes visuelles, les films des frères Quay proposent une expérience de l'ineffable... Leur univers de vieux objets abîmés, brisés, ouvre un monde de marionnettes abandonnées à la poussière... Les frères jumeaux travaillent beaucoup à partir d'aeuvres littéraires de Franz Kafka, Bruno Schulz, Robert Walser, auteurs où le floue onirique nous emmènent aux frontières du fantastique, sans toutefois une dose de sarcasmes souterrains. Deux adaptations de Walser figurent parmi leurs courts-métrages, « Dramolet », et « The Comb », où une vieille poupée parcours d'interminables échelles surréalistes, mais c'est le songe d'une femme endormie...
